The sorting facility I worked in was barely heated and poorly lit. Sorting packages all day, going who knew where. You just loaded. After a while, you wondered why.
I thought of Plato’s Cave.

Now I need to read upon Plato’s Cave! You’ve given me homework 🙂
Now I also have to check into Plato’s Cave!
We had a saying, that management wanted to treat us like mushrooms, “keep us in the dark and cover us in bullshit.” Working out what was actually going on where we worked, and what the reality was made me think of Plato’s Cave which was an allegory for knowledge and reality. It was a terrible place to work.
Yeah, that’s unfortunately the attitude in lots of places.
I too had to look up Plato’s cave and now I think I know what it means! I immediately thought of an Amazon warehouse when I read your words!
My thirty-four!
Exactly! In my case it was UPS, but basically, any hub/ warehouse with frantic poorly controlled work flows.
I am here for the money. Well done.
