The grass is always greener somewhere else, I guess. I sometimes think of this when I see a note about someone starting up a new business, and then I think about mine. I started my woodcarving business after years of carving. It was right after the end of my Government job, and I started doing boat shows to build sales. I also had a business as a videographer. And finally I was much younger than I currently am.
Start a new business? Being that I am still an active 80 this sometimes runs around my head. But I still work part-time in video, and while the woodcarving is pretty low-key, it’s not totally idle.
So no. While Ideas will still be generated, I don’t think I want to round out my work history with another business venture. I’ll continue working part-time in the ones I have and be satisfied.

Amen. I agree.
I have an inspiration now and then about a great business idea, but I have never wanted to run my own business- even when I was young and full of energy. I never wanted the responsibility and the stress. I admire entrepreneurs like yourself and I envy the brass it took. ๐
In my case it was sheer necessity that prompted it.
I’ve had job offers since I moved here. None of them were in the least enticing. I didn’t even think of the money. I just though, “Oh shit. Someone would be my boss. I’d have to get up at a certain time, show up at a certain time, end my work day when they say so, meet the public (ew).” Though, the second year I lived here I did work at an art co-op I belonged to. That was mostly fun, but definitely had an un-fun side.
My bosses do not mess with me. If it were high-stress, I probably would reconsider the job.
