These are designs for the ends of quarterboards. The boards have the boat’s name carved into them and are placed on a boat’s stern or bow quarters. The image below shows you what an entire board looks like; this one is designed to be placed on the port forward quarter.
Some people like their boards plain, and others like carved decoration on them. I’ve done a wide variety of designs, but these are three of my favorites.
