Judy’s Number Game # 92 -9/29/25

And the number is 214 –

  • One of my wife’s grandmothers gifted me this years ago. It was carved in what she described as an iron ore. A wonderful and unique carving that I am gled to have in my collection.
  • This was an early steam-powered trawler out of Boston. With vessels of this vintage, it can sometimes be unclear as to what the roles of the sails were. On some steam-powered vessels like this one, they primarily acted to provide stability, not so much propulsion.
  • Max and Marcus, the two “bro’s” enjoy an afternoon by the wood stove – note that Marcus is on his handmade afghan comforter.
  • One of my shelves with mostly carving books on it.
  • How about having one of these to tool around the neighborhood on!
  • Siblings love to fight!

  1. Love the photo of your cats. A friend gave me one of these but they wouldn’t touch it..It was too rickety, I think. I gave it to one of my English students and her cats loved it. Bet you would love seeing Bob’s library of art books, including wood carving. I couldn’t bear to get rid of them and moved a whole large bookcase of them down to Mexico. Hopefully his sons will enjoy them when they inherit this house as they are all artists.

    1. Art books often don’t stay in print. You grab them while you can because they frequently don’t do repeat print runs. What an extraordinary inheritance for an artist to receive!
