The shop is normally tranquil at this time of year. It’s cold out there! It’s the reason that I normally do my Christmas carving in October and November; the little boat heater can keep it toasty then, but it labors in December and January.
But, best laid plans and so on! So today I was prepping some cherry spoon blanks. The rough handle shapes and spoon bowls have been shaped. I’ll let them sit for a while and then finish the handles and the bowls. Then it will be time for the final standings. A mineral oil and beeswax mixture finishes the prep to seal the wood, and they can be presents.
