That “Never believe anything…” quote is a good one. I heard a pro tip a few months ago from a person who has experience covering the Middle East – pretty sure it was Thomas Friedman. He said that Western leaders will lie on camera and tell the truth behind closed doors, and Middle Eastern leaders will tell the truth to the camera and lie behind closed doors. So he said he put less faith in what our US people said was being agreed to in secret meetings, and instead paid close attention to what the foreign leaders publicly said to their constituents. These day I question three times anything our gov says, and if I happen to think that something they say is good, I strat looking for the trap in it.

I’d say that goes for all politicians. I never really liked only having 2 major choices. 😕
