Judy’s Number Game – #86

And the number is 208:

  • There is a long walk going up the hill in Burlington. It faces the lake for some incredible views, and scattered along the retaining wall are small marble carvings like this.
  • A practice piece I made for students to refer to. The order of the cuts and their angle are essential to the leaves looking right when carved.
  • Stardust was a large sign I carved for the home of a musical family.
  • This piece is tiny. It was carved in Occupied Japan by a skilled carver.
  • One year I did these frig magnets for presents.
  • Sabrina, my female cat, meets Arthur, my grandchild, for the first time.
  • One of my earliest maritime jobs was this transom banner for my friend’s boat, Quaak. Quaak is the sound made by a night heron.
  • The sign says it all!

  1. Arthur seemed more interested in getting acquainted than Sabrina did! Great shot. I never took videos before I got my cellphone, but have thousands of slides..some of which I’ve digitized. I even bough a little apparatus to do so but never found the time. Where is Quaak?

        1. Me too, but the cats chatter away at me all the time…sometimes I think it’s much more like: “let’s get the idiot to fill the food bowls! We are so sick of his idiocy!”

          1. It’s worth a visit. I have to resist saluting the flag, and OOD as I go up the gangway. I feel around, but my gob hat and Peacoat are gone…And I didn’t even like being in the Navy. The Constitution just has that effect on you.
