The old university stuff regarding the nature of knowledge has long since disappeared. That stuff went along with reams of theory on obscure kinship systems practiced in the Marquesas Islands. By the way, it is not missed in the least!
Lots of times, simple is the best way to go. I love my wife, and I could get really complicated about it, but she wants it simple, too. She wants a hug and kiss, and I am well equipped to provide that because that’s what I want, also.
Now the kittens like to show affection by lying so tightly against me that on the nights that my sweetie ( my wife and my sweetie are on the same to you suspicious types) is off from work, I feel like the meat in a sandwich with cats pressing on one side and sweetie on the other.
But I have no existential quibbles with who loves me!

You tickled me with this. My son’s cat likes to sleep across his neck, his wife’s cat sleeps on the top of her head. My dog had her own pillow and stayed there all night and waited until I’d had coffee to get up. She had bonding issues. 🙂
