I’ve done some truly fool hardy things. There was the time my friends and I walked calmly, no running, through the territory of a tough gang in Manhattan. We were on ur way home from Downtown, and had no money for the subway train. So we walked. We were taunted by the gang, laughed at, and in general provoked, but we didn’t start a fight. No tough looks, no phyical threats. We just ignored them and calmly talked and walked to the border of their territory. Years later I met one of the, shall I say alumni of the gang. He said everyone agreed that we had ” a huge set of balls for trying it…” and the only reason we got away with it was that we ignored all the threats, and didn’t threat ot posture back. His guys couldn’t figure out what our game was. We just kept on walking like we were royalty and it was our right to pass through.
So, that was then and this is now. Last winter I bought my aching arthritic feet a special heating pad that you slip your feet into, set the heat and relax. It is so wonderful. Sit at the desk, work at the computer, watch a movie, and have the aches soothed away. That’s until your cats figure out that you’ve been harboring the ultimate in cat beds all for yourself. there you sit on your amply adiposed rump when a poor cat needs the warmth on a chill fall evening. You failed in your duty to start the wood stove, and now you insist on witholding cat nirvana from your beloved kitties. You cad!
The photo shows one of Marcus occupying the heating pad. It’s not on. But making sure that your claim is recognized is important. Disturbing them is not advised.

Poor Marcus having to wait for Father to realize the error of his ways! He has the sweetest little face.
He is very insistent when he wants his own way, though.
Ooooh. I didn’t know about those foot warmers! It sounds wonderful. David has been having issues with his feet, and I’m sending him a link to this post. Also, Marcus is adorable. And I’m sure our Tribble will also claim the pad for hers if David decides his feet need one.
I got it on Amazon, and it was about $30 and does a great job on the feet. But now it belongs to the cats.
David made happy noises when he saw it. He also knows that Tribble, like Marcus, will claim it.
He’s daring you…
