The Grey Menace liked going into class with me almost as much as he enjoyed parties.

Messes

In college, I had a professor who had his lecture notes bound in leather. Two things were unfortunate about this: first, the paper was plain yellow legal pad paper - not a very durable choice. But more importantly, he had decided that his lectures were immutable, perfect, and never needed changing.

Comfort

The color will do. It's a nice min-waffle too.

Bay Rum

Scent is a very personal thing; to some, the right scent is a melody of pleasure

Crystal

Listening to Lucrezia, you'd learn that her family was a long line of scryers and clairvoyants.

Committee

" Blame it on, Caine. It's nobody's fault, but we need somebody to blame." So goes a line in one of my favorite songs.

Wake Up!

If you've read my work for a while, you know that I'm a prose person. I'll read poetry, but other than a lousy haiku, I don't write it. A while ago, I ran into the poem I am presenting below.

Faces

I had a friend who, whenever something struck him as both profound and annoying, would tug on his sizeable red beard and state that, "I'll have to cogitate my veritabilities."

Jobs

Once upon a time, we imagined that you got out of school, went to work in your profession, and stayed at your duty station until retirement. I'd love to quash that oversimplification of the past and seal it away with myths about ancient gods and goddesses.
