Insensitive

I know that “I ran” Is an example of an intransitive verb. But that is as far as it goes. Entire generations of language teachers have taunted me about not understanding the concept of intransitivity. My take on their gross insensitivity is that they can take their taunts and shove them…Hey? Was that intransitive?
I mean, as a wood carver, I can create delicate ship portraits. As an anthropologist, I can tease apart complex social relationships. But you are going to sit there and gloat over intransitivity?
That’s just insensitive.
