To Blog

Why blog? I could scribble on social media, post memes that thousands of others have also posted, or elaborately describe my recent meals and who I saw last week, but I would rather spend some time every day reading and writing something that I find diverting, interesting, or funny. I tried doing this on FB but found that it needed to be reducible to a meme for notice. And I like the back-and-forth of questions, answers, and responses that come with writing a blog.

Full disclosure – I do publish this blog to a FB page for a handful of friends who read it there. But it’s mostly on WordPress that the sort of online community exists that is looking for something more to read than an old cartoon from the New Yorker.

I’ve received ideas on products, insights that challenged me, and support from other creative talents.

In the end, it’s not just writing. It’s the community of others that you share with.

  1. Iโ€™d far rather see original content than memes (unless itโ€™s a meme that the writer has made). The internet is awash with memes already.
