Let’s see…milk, bread, fruit, dog food, and gourmet cat food?
No, it’s not quite that good for them. But with the prices escalating, it sometimes feels like they should be eating gourmet quality food rather than cans of chopped stuff. If you do go the gourmet route, there are choices. There are tiny little plastic containers for ransom prices that you’d think they’d scarf down. But no, they look at it disdainfully. Then reach over it, scratch haughtily, and leave it for the dog. The dog has lower tastes and consumes all. He does the pre-wash cycle on their dishes!
We’ve learned to compromise. To give our two darlings, Marcus and Sabrina, a balanced diet, we lay down a base of canned food, top it with a bit of some goody from the tube ( Churru, or Delectables), add a bit of warm water, and then put some dried food on top. They don’t overeat, so the quantities are modest.
Every day it’s something else, so their menu has variety within a budget.
So today, I’m making up the grocery list. I need milk, bread, fruit, dried and wet food for cats and dogs. And—oh, I almost forgot—some more honey for the honey pot!

Merry Christmas 🎅
and a very Merry Christmas to you also!
Good to know that Sabrina and Marcus dine like the royalty they are!
RHIP-rank hath its privleges!
Wet food, tube, water and dried food! ‘‘Tis a multi-layered feast!
Bear and Teddy hope the dog gets something equally wonderful.
He does very well indeed, no starving doggies around here!
I’ll let them know.
Of course he does the pre-wash to make sure that all food residue is completely removed before the bowls get washed. It’s chore, but he gladly suffers it for his young siblings sake. He’s so caring!
Oh Max, you’re a model of canine sanitation!!! “That’s my job!” No Teddy, you don’t live with Lou.
They are lucky to have you as their parent
