Have you ever unintetionalbly broken the LAW? Like, get real, man.
Like two lovebirds, there was Carol and I romantically sharing a joint of some good stuff on the steps of Station Four. Several police officers walked by but were too occupied to notice. Besides, who would dare smoke a joint of fine Mary Jane on the steps of a police station? Ahhh 1965. So Sweet.
Then there was the impromptu cafe we created behind a restaurant that wouldn’t serve us. We were poorly dressed ruffians. My friend found a table and chairs, and we served some impromptu goodies, offered chianti from paper cups, and I played guitar and sang. Audience participation was very enthusiastic.
Then there are a few scars on my hands from a nasty fight one night in the South End. Nobody was going to steal my guitar, and I left Robber Boy for the police to pick up as he held certain body parts and crooned for Mommy.
Then there was my times as a Pius Itinerant. ” No Sir, I didn’t know it was against the law to hitchhike. I promise I’ll never do it again.”
So, have I ever “unintentionally” broken the LAW? Of course not.

What are laws really but some words someone made up?
Hahaha. Love these stories. What’s that old saying: “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.”
I remember walking down a street in Denver in 1970 with a couple of friends sharing a joint and hoping the “fuzz” didn’t come by. Ultimately, we got picked up by a guy in a VW van who later tried to date me but I’ve never been very aware of what’s going on. Turned out he was a weed dealer, but who knew? Nice guy, though.
Your recollection really brings back memories. And I can’t think of anything today that quite paints that picture of camaraderie and pleasure. Life was soooo different.
Back then, too, there could be a fundamental difference between a weed dealer and a pusher. In my recollection things started turning darker when the “good stuff” started turning up laced with other junk, and you couldn’t depend on the supply.
“God damn the pusher man.”
I was thinking about the same song!

Love it, Lou. I believe you!
Every one nothing ๐๐
Funny happenings. it would have been a bummer to get thrown in jail and not be able to enjoy the good stuff.
Too true!
