I’m getting too old to put up with arrogant politicians of any stripe, overly rich tech billionaires, and entitled one percenters. All wrapped up in one, those are my top three pet peeves. Now you say Oh, he’s talking about so and so in national politics. Well, in good old-fashioned Yankee style, I say a pox on all of them…the New Yorker in me has some juicier things to say that I hesitate to publish.
I sometimes attempt to cast an illusion that everything is all right. And for me and mine it is. But I worry about those federal workers who have only received part of their back wages. Not some anonymous numbers, but former colleagues who are wondering if they should pay for the car insurance or the health insurance this month. I also worry about the pet food banks being set up because people barely being able to feed their kids need to rely on charity to feed their cat. I don’t notice the overly endowed with wealth and influence exactly rushing in to relieve the issues. Well, after all, their favorite Bible verse exclaims that the “poor will always be with us.” So why worry?
These days, I tend to mutter, at least several times a day, “This won’t end well.”
I hope that I am wrong.

I hope you are wrong too, Lou. It’s been an issue for quite some time but the attention is truly focused now on how the one percent make such a mess of things. I look every day to see if it’s over yet. My niece was furloughed from SS, then called back as essential without pay. I’m with you 100% in the grumbling. I want it to end NOW.
Now would be really nice. but I won’t hold my breath, er need to work on strtegies for basic survival.
