This is a planter made from a hollowed-out birch knot in the woodpile. Rather than burning it, I cleaned the hole and turned it into a planter. I'm out most mornings checking the garden and the woodland garden in the rear near the sanctuary. It's been so wet this year that it's been a big year for fungi. This little mushroom was the last photo taken in July.
Last on the card – May 2023
The last Photo on the card - for May is a gall on a witch hazel leaf on the edge of the woodland garden. I was giving H.I.M. Xenia her morning stroll around the garden when I spotted it. Gslls have always interested me, and I'll watch this one as it develops.
