There are a number of practice pieces here. In teaching, I emphasize the importance of having these as memory stimulators. We are forgetful, and these pieces remind us of best practices. These were regularly used by students when I taught at WoodenBoat School.

Cats threatening the world’s well-being is an old theme around our house. My Grey cat Clancy was dubbed the Grey Menace for his attack capabilities. Young Sabrina is planning for world conquest.
The Applehead is a folk art piece. It’s a vanishing tradition. The fresh apple is peeled and cored. You then carve a little face on it and add eyes, hair, or a hat. The space the care was is filled with a cotton ball, and the head is allowed to dry. This one dates back to the early ’90s when I was still working as an applied anthropologist. So, they last when cured properly.
