A Sleigh Ride

Life is not a sleigh ride at Christmas time unless it includes a runaway team of horses careening through the darkness, highwaymen attempting to hold you up, and a few other random additions to spice it up. Let’s face it: many years, you wind up saying, “Now, where the hell did that come from?” more often than you’d wish.

You can do an unofficial tally this time of year and see how things add up. Let’s see a pile for the “Oh, my God, what a blessing!”, one for “the freakin’ @#$$%% QWWE@@!!!!”, another one for “whew! That could have been nasty!” and small one for “that worked out after all!.” Now, open your eyes and see which pile is highest. Then, rate the year.

And then remember this Jack Dempsey quote: “A champion is someone who gets up when he can’t.”
