Marcus gets serious

While Sabrina loves cuddling, actively chatting with you, and giving you an earful on how she feels about things, Marcus is the strong silent type. If he talks, you better listen, he isn’t about to repeat himself – you should have paid attention the first time.

Marcus like to lie on the window shelf alongside my desk and watch while I write. Sabrina does to, but she’s more likely to make vocal comments, Marcus let’s things play out.

Don’t take his silence to mean that he is not a cat of action. In the animal shelter he chose me, not the other way around. He jumped from the cage unto my shoulder, started purring, and basically told me ” let’s split this joint, and get me a real meal.” Being this was haow I came to live with the impressive Clancy ( AKA the Grey Menace) how could I refuse?

When the siblings want something Sabrina gets loud, gets up on tiptoes and begs. Marcus on the other hand comes to the desk, sits down beside me, and puts on paw on my shoulder. He seems to be saying, “you’ll feel so much better after you feed us, and then Sabrina will shut up, and we can go back to doing what we were doing.”

He’s a wise cat.

  1. ‘puts on paw on my shoulder’–the subtlety of a gentleman never goes unnoticed. My girls swooned, Marcus. ๐Ÿ˜ป White Paws had no comment…

  2. This is how my old Maine Coon mix, Manny, chose me from a shelter in Burlington, Vermont. I was volunteering there, and he reached through the bars of the cage every time I walked past. I tried to explain that I wanted a little kitten, not a 2-year-old, but Manny was unconcerned with my opinions about it. Soon he was my beloved boy and I learned how amazing Maine Coons are. <3

    1. Yes, they choose; we only accede to their choice and open the can of food, provide a warm bed, and a sunny window. Rank has its Privileges.
