Sabrina is bird watching
Our dining room door faces my workshop/ greenhouse. It also faces the main bird feeders. The cat “tree” is strategically posed nearby so our two cats can watch “kitty cat cable TV, or CatFlix, all day. Here, a very excited Sabrina is focusing on a sparrow visiting one of the suet feeders.
Beyond the feeders is the workshop, and hung in the shop is an illustration of an Antonio Jacobson portrait. It’s his portrait of the Newburyport-built clipper ship Dreadnaught. My first effort at Dreadnaught wound up in the burn pile because of some bad design issues.
One day, a few weeks ago, I was visiting the Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport. There on a wall was the Jacobson portrait on loan from the owner. It reignited my interest. What you see is pretty close to the actual size the carving will be – substantial.
