Lets See…Time Tourism!

Tourism of historical events? We can make a hunk of money on this one. You know, run hot air balloon tours over Gettysburg, fill the local hotels with temporal tourists trying to get a good exchange rate on their cash with the local money changers, whatever.

However, we’d better plan on a separate commissary service. The 1860’s were hell on the digestion. Most up-time dieting regimes could not be made to work.

Sports fans? Well let’s see trips to the Colliseum, chariot racing, and gladitorial combat. This’ll make Mixed Martial Arts, football and wrestling look tame. Later on we can tour the palace…Caligula was a hoot!

Cultural stuff? We can work a deal with Will Shakespeare and the King’s Men. Rig the stage with mics and let the tourists mix with the locals.

Who are you? The Temporal Police? Why, no, officer. I wasn’t planning on altering the timeline; honestly. No, of course not. What? You have a nice little prison in the lower Pleistocene for people like me? Come on, cut me a break…how about this: forget about these charges, and I’ll give you a deal on this ticket to Ford’s Theater. Hey, no need for the cuffs. I’ll come peacefully!

  1. A great idea! Kind of like when we toured Plimouth Plantation and could with the pilgrims. Each tourist could spend a day or two in that location. Wearing their clothes, sharing their food. Wouldn’t we come away so thankful–at least for a few days–for how good we have it now?
