Hide and Seek!

Hi! I’m Marcus. My sister Sabrina and I have had a new hobby these past few months. It’s a version of Hide and Seek. My sister and I get into a fight, and she rips my collar off. We then continue the fight and wind up hiding the collar with the name tag on it. Oh yeah, Dad says it has a- what is it? Telephone number on it? It’s supposed to be useful if the escape committee succeeds in a breakout.

In any case, we hide the collar and the tag. Then we watch Dad, Mom, and our human siblings search all over for it. See! We hide it, and they seek it! Hide and seek.

They look behind the furniture in the living room, the kitchen and even in that room they call the bathroom- why can’t they use their tongues? They get into that big wet box and spray themsleves with all that misty water…ick, wet fur! Even our dog brother uses his tongue! But getting back to the collar, they never look in that gallon jug in the back room! That’s where Sabrina stashed the latest one!

Of course we are cats. We are really good at hiding things. Our humans? Well, not so good at seeking. We think it’s all that getting wet, and not cleaning themselves with their tongue.

This collar? Oh, yeah! It’s the third this year. Right now they can’t find the other two, and while I’m very handsome in this outfit, I don’t like what it does to my neck ruff. By the time you read this, my sister and I will have hidden it where Dad will not find it for weeks.

In the morning: Marcus!!!!Sabrina!!! Where is the darned collar!!!!

I gotta go!

  1. Are the missing collars all the same colour? Maybe they want a different look? Louis Catorzeโ€™s friend Boots wore Chelsea FC collars and would pretty much lose one a week, until we swapped to a Crystal Palace one and then he kept it on forever.

  2. Marcus, I haven’t shown this to Teddy because he wouldn’t like it, but I’d like you to know that I think you’re a very handsome cat. As for your humans? Keep at it. We really need our animal housemates to keep us on our feet.

    1. Marcus: I have a dog brother – Max – he’s an “enlightened” dog. Teddy needs to ease up on the whole species thing. I don’t hold Max’s being a dog against him. We can’t all be cats!

      1. Marcus, I get it. I had several dogs who thought cats were great. A couple even let lonely little kittens “nurse” on them. Teddy is just fierce in protecting his territory. If you come visit us and come in through the front door, Teddy will probably like you very much. Just don’t drop out of a tree or climb a fence in the back yard. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿงธ

  3. Marcus is a gentleman, well his calm and dignified picture suggests so ๐Ÿ™‚
And hiding those collars, well a gentleman also needs to have some harmless fun. ๐Ÿ˜€
