Garfield

Even though he’s not the most fleet-footed of cats, our favorite has to be Garfield. No, it’s not quite an agape love, just an enjoyable feeling that, as far as cartoons go, he is the top. Always a snappy comeback to his realistically clueless human foil, a dedication to gourmet cuisine, and a love of restful sleep!

OK, there isn’t much choice, is there? Humans haven’t exactly favored cats in the cartoons, have they? What’s the one about a cat and a mouse? Tom and Jerry? Yuck. The Cat in the Hat…get a life! And please don’t go on about Hello Kitty, that traitor to the species! Sylvester, or Felix? They are mere first responders to the need of humans to denigrate cats, the truly superior species.

Now, Please. We hear the sound of a can being opened in the kitchen. We are away to see what delicate viands our domestic servants are plating for our repast. Ta-ta for now!
