The Cave

The sorting facility I worked in was barely heated and poorly lit. Sorting packages all day, going who knew where. You just loaded. After a while, you wondered why.
I thought of Plato’s Cave.

    1. We had a saying, that management wanted to treat us like mushrooms, “keep us in the dark and cover us in bullshit.” Working out what was actually going on where we worked, and what the reality was made me think of Plato’s Cave which was an allegory for knowledge and reality. It was a terrible place to work.
