Coffee. Coffee is essential in most mornings. But this morning, it was trumped by the “escape committee’s” successful work opening the screen door and escaping into the yard.
There I was, sipping my first cup and talking with my wife, when “darling” Sabrina strolled up, purring. We were a bit dumbstruck at her escape and how brazenly she approached us to be petted. But then, while my wife grabbed Sabrina, I hunted for her brother, Marcus. My wife ran inside, grabbed the container of favorite snacks, Greenies, and began calling out for Marcus.
Not a fool, Marcus had run into the workshop to hide in the pile of spoon blanks. Luckily, Greenies have an extraordinary power over cats, and out he trotted for a treat.

Oh, your little ‘darlings’…! 😸 This is why we cannot open any windows in our house. White Paws figured out how to push out the screens. Strange that it takes two of us to take them down from the outside yet he had no problem pawing them from the inside.
The genius of cats is perverse.
That is exactly why cats think we humans are kind of stupid.
Yes, but they like us that way. We can be manipulated.
Very true…
