Right now, I am trying to finish up the work week so I can take an extended holiday weekend. I have vacation time and the holiday on Monday. If I can only get all my server downloads, uploads, asset assignments, programming, and other stuff done, I’ll be able to spend four days lazing as a customer of Chateau Carreras. It’s a cozy little resort in Central Massachusetts, not too well known, and we like it that way.
“What!” you say. You’re not making an end-of-summer pilgrimage to a favorite coastal location in Maine or Cape Ann? Nope. We hit the wall with that stuff years ago. It’s not so much the crowds as it is the whacko drivers – sleep-deprived, drink-addled, and disgruntled. They fought over blanket space on the beach. The food server was late with the ice cream, or the kids got just a bit too noisy. No wonder locals hold signs on the highway overpasses before the toll booths saying, “Goodbye and good riddance!”
Yes! The most annoying thing I’ll have to deal with at home will be our dog Max chasing the chipmunks or the cats complaining that it was dinner time an hour ago.
Ahhh vacation!
We’ll head to the coast for a visit in a week or two. When all the folks “from away” have gone away.

I know what you mean. We can hardly catch a break. College kids here at spring break, tourists in the summer, snowbirds here in the winter. If we want to take a drive by the beach, we have to figure out traffic patterns…ridiculous stuff! But city council welcomes the $$$.
The money is nice, but sometime the behavior is too outrageous.
Me and Hamish have our snacks, he doesn’t care if I hog the remote and seriously I’ve already picked out the mismatched clothes I will be wearing over the holiday weekend on my staycation. I am STOKED.
What! he doesn’t midn if you hog the remote? What about barking dog videos…oh that’s right no smell. the missing ingredient for dog TV.
Ha! He hardly ever barks. But he gets super exciited when he hears goats because when I first brought him home ( he was like 11 weeks old ) his first non-family friends were my friends pet pygmy goats. So when he hears goats he sort of loses him mind- runs around with toys and tries to find them. To this day when he jumps up on things he still does this weird goat like hop.
I feel the same way, no crowds for me.
Enjoy a beautiful weekend, my friend… hugs
Enjoy your down time.
