Candid?

I always view “candid” interviews, photos, videos, or other media tripe with suspicion. They feature faded or up-and-coming celebrities,  and politicians. The worst is the expose, which shows someone in an indelicate moment, pose, or tacky attire.

The same photo of you or me is just ascribed to our being drunk or having bad taste. But for those in lofty positions, it’s a sign of serious moral or mental decay—not at all what a normal person would do. It then results in a fall from grace.

An honest appraisal is that the jerk got caught doing what we did in college or high school, and while stupid, it was no worse than a sign of immaturity. Perhaps, terrible taste.

But as the adage says – “If you’re going to fool around, better pull down the shades.”

  1. Don’t you love the ‘candid’ interviews where the first question is, “We’ve never met before, right?” TIPOFF!!!!

  2. I’m at the point where — oh yeah, OK, a friend of mine years ago had an aged mother. She’d stopped conversing. She said only two things. “Wow!” and “Baloney!” I’m almost there, especially where the media is concerned (not your blog, though).
