Cat’s Claw – a six-sentence story

Cat’s Claw was newly varnished, painted, and almost ready for the regatta. Our friends Paul and Pauline were finishing the cleaning below decks, and Georgia and I were nearly ready to get our little sloop underway.
Paul popped out of the companionway and asked, “Pardon me, Wes, but how do we get this little plug back in its hole?” About that time, I noticed that we were sinking at the stern – they had pulled the bunghole to drain the bilges.

Grabbing the radio, I began hollering for help. Cat’s Claw was sinking at her mooring.
