Keep tech out of Christmas! Yep, here I am on an anti-tech rant again.
I am the infamous Christmas list collector in our family, and I work hard to get most of my shopping done by Thanksgiving. At the very least, family members must get their list to me by Thanksgiving. Failure to do so means suffering my continued harangues, diatribes, and harassment until you comply.
The world of tech has offered to make my life easier with AI. The artificial intelligence program will make life so much easier. You fill in some biographical details, interests, age, and such, and the program spews out a list of preferred goodies.
What’s the problem with this? Maybe that it was too damn good! I went to one called Genie and told it I wanted to buy presents for a 78-year-old male who was a woodcarver, gardener, and a pain in the ass. Leaving aside the suggestions for being a pain in the ass, its suggestions were either things I wanted or already owned. Deciding to dive into the deep doo-doo, I asked it for things that would embarrass the 78-year-old. The program wimped out. Its suggestions included a gardening apron with witty sayings, joke books, and such. It did not even suggest a darned whoppy cushion. No gleeful looks of anguish on Christmas morning as Fredericks of Holywood catalog, illustrated guide to kinky sex, or other goody is unwrapped.
The decision is up to you, but I believe that, in this case, AI and tech have failed.
AI is a wimp!

For real!โจ๐
Now I canโt stop singing, โTech out of Christmas, tech out of Christmas, letโs get rid of A.I. forever and ever โฆโ (Apologies to Sir Elton if heโs reading this.)
We got Marcus and Sabrina, one of those birds Louis got. so some tech is good.
Which birds?
Maybe it was someone else whose cat got a flapping bird toy from a relative. Sorry.
I donโt think that was him. He has a pink butterfly on a string, and a pink (do you see a theme emerging here?) tassel, the kind that used to tie up curtains in the late 90s. But no birds. โIt mustโve been some other black cat.โ
is the famed Catorzean mind control reaching all the way to the States…” I want a bird!!!”, it’s worse than anyone thought. What’s next?
What indeed? I dread to think! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Hahaha.
I had no idea AI could help shop
Beware, oh take care!
