Politicians For Sale, or Rent!!!

Unlimited budget for twenty-four hours? Well, let’s see, I’m too old for fast women and cars. I have all the tools I’ll ever need. Of course! I’ll stir up the already turbid waters of politics! With the midterms coming, it’s an opportune time to do what the billionaires do and buy, buy, buy! Politicians for sale or rent!

With an unlimited budget, just like the Bro’s, I could have my own salon, stable, or coterie of bought politicians. Since the Citizens United case at the Supreme Court, it’s an open marketplace with no expense barred.

With a few prompts from the old budget, I could have Congress doing a Conga Line around the Capitol. The Speaker of the House would get up to do dramatic readings from Dr. Seuss. Anything goes!

Hmmmm…the Supreme Court. I wonder how much that would cost?

Daily writing prompt
If you had an unlimited budget for 24 hours, what would you do?

      1. Take away the penny that we all use and replace it with a $250 that …..who will use it?! So screwed up.

        1. Who would get anything that large? A c note is the biggest I get at the bank. The wood guy likes to be paid in big crisp bills.

  1. Why not a lot of people do it that’s why we have Healthcare that is too expensive in this country.

  2. Heh. You think big. Buy the political system.

I don’t usually “do” these prompts, but I’d be a lot more selfish. Of course the first thing to do with “unlimited funds for 24 hours” is to deposit a gazillion dollars into bank accounts and do the spending later. Then I’d hop the first, first class flight directly into Edinburgh–or hire a private jet.
