Typical is a concept I am no longer comfortable with. I read the weather report, and the air is polluted with the by-products of forest fires. A presidential candidate promises that if he is elected, we’ll never have to vote again. And it’s getting harder and harder to get to see a medical practitioner. I’m a big fan of science fiction, but I never particularly wanted to live in one of the dystopias I’ve read about.
Help! My nice, normal world is being supplanted by a sci-fi nightmare.

Terrible that this is our new ‘typical’.
‘nightmare’ being the key word here.
Mine too. I try to find a break from it and then more weird shit happens. I think we will have become VERY superior human beings if we learn to keep our cool during the relentless onslaught of ugly changes and manage to “go placidly amid the noise and haste.” My mantra is “some days are better than others.”
I aqm beginning to understand some of the attitudes that my parents had after living through the Depression and WWII.
Me too.
