This is a tuffy. From my Folksinger, Pius Itinerant background of traveling the dusty roads with a back pack you’d figure me for loving folk music above all. It’s just not that easy. Just the other day, the car was hopping with early Bo Diddley, Grateful Dead, and Bob Seger. I’m a concert fan of Classical, and have been known to appreciate Gilbert and Sullivan. My music collection does not have a great breadth of really recent material, but I am planning to listen more widely.
I am going through a bit of a musical re-awakening as I play guitar more, and one thing I’ve found out about music is that doing it leads to wider listening.
My playlist for today’s excursion with my wife? Dire Straits, Bill Joel, Sheryl Crow, Jimmy Buffett, Zucchero, and ZZ Top for the outbound. On the way home, it’ll be Dr. John, John Coltrane, Professor Longhair, and Tom Petty. If the traffic slows us down, there’ll be time for Post Modern Jukebox, Jimmy Cliff, and Leonard Cohen. We won’t be in slumber land while driving, Rock on!

I’m with you. Although I would profess to be a Metalhead Hard Rocker, there is just too much amazing music to be trapped by a genre.
so an Ozzie fan!
Great playlists, Lou, from the oldest Nirvana fan on earth who .. okay, even Freddie Fender. All of it, ALL of it, except rap (not actually intended for me) and jazz (drives me up a wall).
I can do hip hop, but rap generally doesn’t do much for me.
That’s far away from the sleepy time Spa channel I listen to on XM
Do you know the genre of National Anthems?
Country ๐
I can’t say that I do.
